Western Costa del Sol
A quarter of an hour from Málaga airport, Benalmádena gathers everything people come to the Costa del Sol for: easy beaches, a lively marina and, up on the hill, a white village that has kept its Andalusian soul.
The resort comes in three tiers. Down below, Benalmádena Costa and its Puerto Marina, with terraces and boats; in the middle, Arroyo de la Miel, the lively neighbourhood where you do your shopping; up top, Benalmádena Pueblo, its flowered lanes and viewpoints over the bay. The Monte Calamorro cable car links it all in ten dizzying minutes.
It is a destination I gladly recommend to families and to first stays in Andalusia: everything is close, days flow without a car, and Málaga, Mijas or Marbella remain within reach for a day trip.
Benalmádena
The liveliest marina on the coast, perfect for dinner facing the boats.
Whitewashed lanes, hanging gardens and the curious Castillo de Colomares.
Europe’s largest Buddhist stupa, set facing the Mediterranean.
Cable car, trails and views as far as Gibraltar on a clear day.
My advice
Places with a soul, experiences that look like you, memories for ever. I create the stay that suits you.
