Three hundred days of sunshine, a calm sea, villages where you dine at 9 pm while the children run around the square: Andalusia is a land for families. All that remains is to compose the holiday that suits your tribe — and to take the logistics off your hands. That is my job.
Where to go as a family on the Costa del Sol?
For a first stay, Benalmádena ticks every box: airport a quarter of an hour away, gently sloping beaches, cable car, aquarium and white village. Nerja will appeal to families who love nature: coves, kayaking, the río Chíllar walk and spectacular caves. Estepona is a flowered village on a child’s scale, with a long seafront for cycling, and Almuñécar offers the calm of the Costa Tropical and its water park.
For the culture day, Granada and the Alhambra fascinate even the youngest — provided you book the tickets and plan breaks.
Accommodation: what really matters with children
- A secured pool or a beach less than ten minutes’ walk away.
- Bedrooms on the same floor and a shaded outdoor space.
- Cot, high chair, bathtub: I ask for them and check them.
- A supermarket and a pharmacy nearby.
- Quiet in the evening, so that everyone sleeps.
I search for the suitable villa or apartment for you, and present an annotated selection before you book.
The little extras that change everything
On arrival, the house is ready and the beach essentials — parasol, cool box, toys, armbands — are waiting for you. I deliver the picnic basket for the day in the mountains, book the table that accepts pushchairs and Spanish mealtimes, and organise cleaning during the stay so that your holiday stays a holiday.
Fancy a day for two while the children are looked after? Let’s talk: I know trusted solutions.
When to travel with children?
The spring and autumn half-term holidays offer perfect temperatures and quiet beaches. Summer is hot: favour a house with a pool, mornings by the sea and evenings in the villages. My article on when to visit the Costa del Sol details each season.
Your questions, my answers
- Do you organise transfers with child seats?
- Yes: I book transfers with car seats suited to your children’s ages, from Málaga or Granada airport, and I welcome you personally on arrival in the Horizon and Sérénité collections.
- Do you offer activities for children?
- Yes, depending on age: boat trips, water park, cable car, Nerja Caves, water hiking, Andalusian cooking workshop. Everything can be booked and adapted.
- Can you help us if something goes wrong on site?
- That is the heart of my accompaniment: I remain reachable during your stay for a doctor, a pharmacy, a change of plan or simply a piece of advice.
